About Elizabeth
Seeking change takes courage. If you’re here, you’ve already taken a meaningful first step.
Working from a psychodynamic perspective and using attachment theory, somatic practices, and cognitive behavioral techniques, I offer a welcoming and responsive space to explore your goals and concerns. Together, we’ll understand the patterns driving certain thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and find effective ways to shift what no longer serves you. This process is tailored to you to assist in improving emotional regulation, clarity, calm, and ease in daily life.
Outside of the therapy room, I’m a mother of two, which gives me a grounded perspective of life’s joys and challenges. I also enjoy photography and staying active, which highlight the importance of being present and taking care of yourself in ways that feel right to you.

Treatment Specialties
Anxiety and Mood
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or weighed down, you’re not alone. I can help navigate symptoms of anxiety, depression, and struggles with self-worth to better understand the root of the problem and help you feel steadier and more secure.
Relationships and Identity
Our relationships can provide much fulfillment, but they can also be a source of significant pain. I support clients working through relationship challenges, exploring questions of identity, and addressing experiences unique to women with openness and zero judgment.
Life Transitions
Change (even positive change!) can be disorienting. Whether you’re navigating a career shift, a loss, a move, a health change, or another major life milestone, we can make meaning of where you’ve been and find clarity about where you’re going.
Perinatal Mental Health
Pregnancy and new parenthood are profound, and can be surprisingly hard. I hold a certificate in perinatal mental health and support clients through fertility challenges, pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, and the emotional complexity of becoming a parent.

Therapy with Elizabeth Marklein
What to Expect Therapy looks different for everyone. Some clients come with a specific goal and others are looking for longer-term support and deeper self-understanding. I will work with you to clarify what you’re hoping for and create a plan that fits. Treatment can range from a handful of sessions to several years. There is no one-size-fits-all timeline.
How Do I Know It’s Working? Progress in therapy isn’t always dramatic. You might notice you are no longer stuck in the same thought loops, that you are making choices without the weight of guilt or shame, that you feel more present in your relationships, or that you are able to show up more authentically in your life. Those shifts are the work paying off.
Fees & Insurance Session fees range from $150–$250 depending on session length and service. Elizabeth is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Blue Choice, and Aetna. For out-of-network plans, she will submit claims on your behalf and also provides superbills for reimbursement. Self-pay options are available.
